Free daily admission – All Members
Each adult Member named on the card, may enter free during regular admission hours (except during select special events that continue into the evening, such as Boo at the Zoo) by presenting your Membership card and photo ID (for adults) at any admission window, including Express Entry. If you lose your Membership card, you may present your photo ID(s) at a regular admission window, and the representative will be able to look up your record and confirm your Membership.
- Individual Memberships allow daily admission for one adult.
- Dual Memberships allow daily admission for two adults.
- Family Memberships and up allow daily admission for two adults PLUS up to 4 children under 18 who accompany them.
Express Entry – All Members
On busy days, one or two lines will be designated as Express Entry. All those with Membership cards and photo IDs may use the Express Entry. These lines are not equipped to handle payments for any accompanying guests, nor are they able to confirm Memberships for lost cards. Look for Express Entry lines to the far left as you face the front gate.
Discounted Admission to select ticketed events – All Members
Many daytime events at Zoo Atlanta are free for Members, but occasionally, special ticketed events are offered in the day, evening or late afternoon. Some of these events (but not all) will be discounted for all Members or FREE for Family Escape Members and above. Please see the Member News page or Zoo Events page for specific details prior to the event. Reservations are often required.
Discounts on Gift Memberships – All Members
All year long, Members may buy any level Gift Membership for friends or family for $10 off. Discounts cannot be combined with other offers and are only available by calling or visiting the WILDLine at 404.624.WILD with your Membership number handy. Please also have the full name(s), address, and phone number for the adult(s) to be listed on the Membership card, and allow two to four weeks for delivery. Temporary cards or a confirmation email may be sent on request, allowing gift recipients Zoo entry prior to receiving their cards. Gift Memberships may not be purchased for members of the same household.
Discounts on Rare Care Sponsorships - All Members
Sponsor one of sixteen species through our Rare Care program and receive $10 off each sponsorship. Benefits and levels of sponsorship vary; see the Rare Care web page for details. Discounts are only available by calling the WILDLine at 404.624.WILD and providing your Membership number.
10% off full-priced daily admission for friends and family – All Members
Up to six guests may receive 10% off full-priced daily admission tickets when accompanying a Member to the Front Gate during regular admission hours and early giant panda viewing. This allows Members to bring their non-Member friends and family with them to the Zoo at a discount. Other Membership benefits do not apply to Member guests.
Invitations to Member-exclusive events and activities – All Members
Throughout the year, Zoo Atlanta hosts various events and celebrations open only to Members or that extend special benefits only to Members. We’ll notify you about such events and activities by email (provide your email address) and sometimes by mail (update your mailing address).
Discounted admission to the Conservation Lecture Series – All Members
The Conservation Lecture Series brings respected researchers and authorities to the Zoo for a weeknight discussion of special topics dealing with animals and conservation. Past topics have included the amphibian crisis, gorilla conservation, giant panda research, Galapagos birds, turtle conservation, orangutan conservation, Rwanda, and animal aesthetics. Lectures are intended for an adult audience, and childcare is not provided. Admission is usually $5 for Members, $7 for non-Members, with free admission for Serengeti Members and up. The event usually takes place in the World Studio of the Conservation ARC in the early evening while the rest of Zoo grounds are closed. Members will be notified by email and/or mail prior to the event. RSVP’s are required, and suggested attire is business-casual.
Subscription to eUpdate, and other special email offers and discounts – All Members
When you provide us with your email address, you will be subscribed to eUpdate, our biweekly email newsletter, and Membership renewal notices as well as occasional reminders of Zoo promotions and events. All emails will be Zoo-related, and we do not share your email address with third parties. If you would prefer not to receive these updates, please edit your contact preferences.
Discounts on rides passes – All Members
Zoo Atlanta’s popular train, carousel and rock climber rides are regularly priced at $2 per ride, but on the day of your visit, Members may purchase an Unlimited Ride Day Pass for $5.50 (non-Members $6.50). Curator Members receive free rides by showing their Membership cards at each ride entrance for admission. Passes and individual rides tickets may be purchased at the Front Gate or at the ticket booth in the Rides Area. The Wild Like Me attraction and the KIDZone Playground are always free for guests.
Discounts on Gift Shop and select Concession purchases – All Members
Show your Membership card and receive 10% off purchases from the Zoo Atlanta Trading Company, Pandamonium, Wild Planet Café, Nathan’s Famous, Willie B’s, Flamingo Joe’s & Otterly Cool. When you show your Membership card, you also earn Bonus Dollars at our Gift Shops at the rate of 5% for every $25 spent. You can redeem discounts the next time you make a purchase or let them roll over for extra savings. Bonus Dollars can only be redeemed in Zoo Atlanta Gift Shops and cannot be redeemed for cash.
Discounted Family Programs, Birthday Parties, and Zoo Camp – All Members
When making reservations for any educational Family Programs (Mommy & Me, Family NightCrawlers and Birthday NightCrawlers), Zoo Camp or Birthday Parties, supply your Membership number to receive your Membership discount. School and group educational program reservations are not discounted for Members.
Discounts on admission to select zoos and aquariums nationwide – All Members
When you show your Zoo Atlanta Membership card at the zoos and aquariums on this list, you’ll receive a discount off admission for those covered under your Membership. Please be sure to contact the destination before visiting, however, because individual zoo and aquarium policies vary.
Unique volunteer opportunities – All Members
If you belong in the Zoo, you may also want to be further involved with what we do. Opportunities abound for Members who want to get involved to develop new skills, make new friends, and learn about endangered species and conservation issues. Please be sure to read about the program and fill out an application online. Those who are 14-to-17-years-old may be interested in our popular Volunteens program.
Tax-deductible – All Members
We are a non-profit organization. Under Internal Revenue Services (IRS) guidelines, your payment, less the fair market value of the benefits you receive, is deductible for income tax purposes. The estimated value of standard-level membership benefits is not substantial, according to the IRS. Individual, Dual, and Family Memberships are fully tax-deductible. But higher levels of Membership receive guest passes, which the IRS values at $13.50 apiece. Consequently, the tax-deduction for those Memberships is reduced by $13.50 for each complimentary admission ticket you received as a benefit of your level of Membership. If you would like to increase your tax deduction, you may return unused guest passes within 30 days of receipt and request a revised tax-deduction letter from us.
Add-a-Nanny benefit
This benefit allows a Member’s designated nanny to bring the Member’s children to the Zoo in their parent’s absence. After the benefit is activated, the nanny must be designated by calling the WILDLine or emailing membership@zooatlanta.org with the nanny’s full name and title, and Nanny cards will be mailed to the Member address. Only one nanny may be designated per Membership, and s/he must be accompanied by the Member children to visit. Nannies may accompany the Member parents to the Zoo if they Add-a-Guest or pay for an adult admission. Add-a-Nanny is FREE for Family Escape Members and higher; $20 per year for all other Members; and is fully tax-deductible. If you Add-a-Nanny to a Membership currently underway, the benefit is good until the Membership expiration date, and you may renew the benefit with your Membership for another $20. Add-a-Guest benefit
This benefit allows you to bring a different guest with you every time you visit the Zoo. The guest is not named on the card and must accompany the Member for admission to the Zoo. Limit one guest per Membership; additional guests must pay regular admission (less 10% when accompanying a Member). Add-a-Guest is FREE for Keeper Members and higher; $20 per year for all other Members; and is fully tax-deductible. If you Add-a-Guest to a Membership currently underway, the benefit is good until the Membership expiration date, and you may renew the benefit with your Membership for another $20.
Passport to Adventure (Family Escape, Serengeti, Patron, Keeper, Curator)
Exclusively for children of Family Escape Members and up, the keepsake Passport to Adventure is an activity booklet filled with animal photos and information to promote learning and imagination. Pick them up or bring them to our Passport Stamping Days, to have the designated animal page stamped. Collect stamps for fun prizes like T-shirts, rides passes, and a free Mommy & Me or Family NightCrawler program! Watch our Passport to Adventure page for dates and animals to be stamped and start collecting! Limit one Passport per child; stamps in separate books may not be combined.
Guest passes (Family Escape, Serengeti, Patron, Keeper, Curator)
Admission tickets for one-time use will be included in your Membership Card Packet. Passes may be used by any non-Member for regular daytime admission. Share them with friends or family, or save them for extra guests you bring to the Zoo with you. Passes expire one year from the date of Membership. The number of guest passes issued reduces the tax-deductibility of your Membership cost. See below for more information.
Subscription to Wild Times (Family Escape, Serengeti, Patron, Keeper, Curator)
Zoo Atlanta’s color print magazine, Wild Times, is packed with great photos and articles about our conservation efforts and animal news. Issues are printed four times a year and will automatically be mailed to Family Escape Members and up.
Invitations to exhibit previews (Patron, Keeper, Curator)
When new exhibits open, we want our Members to help us celebrate by being some of the first to see the new animals. Exhibit preview celebrations are generally on a weekday evening, and invitations will be emailed and/or mailed; RSVP’s are required.
Invitation to annual donor appreciation events (Keeper, Curator)
In addition to special exhibit previews, select Members are invited to additional VIP events. Invitations will be emailed and/or mailed, and RSVP’s are required.
Subscription to conservation newsletters (Keeper, Curator)
Your name will be added to the mailing lists of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Journal and Turtle Survival Alliance newsletters to keep you up to date on these essential conservation issues.
Complimentary Family Gift Membership ($99 value!) for a friend (Curator)
Your Membership letter will include instructions to call our WILDLisne Reservation Center to redeem a complimentary Gift Membership at the Family level for another family to enjoy. The Membership cards will be mailed to the family you designate, and the Membership will be valid for a year from the time of activation. If you would like to give a higher level Gift Membership, simply pay the difference when you call the WILDLine. |
